My Basement is Almost Finished!

It’s been almost five months since I’ve bought my new house.  I’ve slowly been working on redoing my basement.  I am turning it into my studio/den.  I still need to get another bookcase to go on the right side of my tv.  Plus, a couple of comfy armchairs.  The old ugly wooden cabinet has been painted white and now holds my art supplies. Also, the old ugly wet bar has been ripped out and the new smaller sink shall be finished off within the week. My basement is almost ready and I’m so happy with how well it’s turning

New Art for my House!

IMG_6663IMG_6662IMG_6661

When one has a relative that is an artist, one of the great perks is receiving fantastic artwork to decorate your place.  My father just framed these new pieces for me and dropped them off at my house.  So, now my walls are a little less bare.  There was supposed to be a fourth painting, but he sold it before I could get my hands on it.  Darn.  That’s okay though, I really love these other pieces!

Thanks Dad!

Why I’ve Been So Absent From My Blog.

Picture 1

I haven’t posted much in the past couple of months (or done much artwork) because I have been in the process of buying a new house.  I found a house at the end of May and I’m all moved in now.  I’m just in the process of furnishing and decorating it – the fun part!  Hopefully I’ll be able to get back into blogging and creating artwork sometime soon.

My March PikaPackage!

img_66392

My March Pika Package, from Pikaland, has arrived!  This time I received the following:

  • we all live peacefully at the edge of the water  - reproduction from gretchenmist (Melbourne, Australia)  -  Amy (from Pikaland) was kind enough to ask this round which artist I would like to have in my package, so I said I would love any print from Belinda Kemp of gretchenmist.  I’m really pleased with the one Amy picked out for me!
  • Where I am - postcard from Lertsis (Bangkok, Thailand)
  • White Penguins – set of four gocco printed note cards from paperkate (Brisbane, Australia)
  • Boo To You - reproduction from Stephanie Fizer (West Virginia, USA)

New Art Card Series

Here are my latest art cards I’ve been working on.  These have been so much fun to make.  I have a feeling that series is not quite finished yet. I’m going to be slowly releasing them for sale in my Etsy shop.
