Sketchbook Project 2011

I’ve signed up to be part of an interesting art project called the “Sketchbook Project Tour: 2011” run by Art House Co-op.

According to Art House’s website, this project is “like a concert tour but with sketchbooks”.

Basically,  “thousands of sketchbooks will be exhibited at galleries and museums as they make their way on tour across the country.  After the tour, all sketchbooks will enter into the permanent collection of The Brooklyn Art Library, where they will be barcoded and available for the public to view.”

Each artist who signs up for this project receives a moleskine sketchbook that they have to fill up according to whatever theme they pick.   The theme I picked for this project is “A record year for rainfall.”  My sketchbook arrived in the mail today, and I’m excited to get started on this project.  I’ll be uploading completed sketchbook pages to this blog as I go!

  1. How very cool Julie! I look forward to seeing your theme as it develops. What a neat idea!

  2. I love the theme you’ve chosen, Julie, and I’ll watch for updates as you start to fill the pages.

Hope all is well with you.
